- 01What you will need: Tourist visas to Iraq for individuals needs to be applied inside Iraq by an Iraqi sponsor who gives a copy of the passport of the applicant/applicants with a responsibility letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department and asks them to send the approval to the closest Iraqi Consulate for the applicants, then the Consulate will issue the visa directly • U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have two adjacent blank pages available. • Iraq Visa Application Form – Please provide a completed visa application form; click here for a .pdf of the application. Because the application changes on occasion, we’ve also provided a link to the Iraq Embassy website so you may get the most recent version directly from the Embassy website. The application form must be filled out completely and have answers for all fields. It must display your full name as appears in your passport, and it must be signed. • Visas & Authentication Visa Request Form – filled out completely. • Photograph – Please provide two color, identical, passport size photos. The photograph must be printed on photo paper, it must be 2″ by 2″ and have a white background, and it must have been taken in the last 6 months. • Approval reference number that is issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department. • Personal Letter of Intent – A personal letter of intent from the applicant addressed to the Embassy of Iraq that explains the purpose of the trip, dates of travel, cities to be visited, contact information, and place of accommodation. You must also include the name, addresses, occupations, and relationships of the host in Iraq.
- 02What you will need: All regular passport holders who are going to work or meet, permanently or temporarily at the diplomatic missions in Iraq, should not apply through the Iraqi Consulate in DC. Their diplomatic mission in Iraq must apply for them through the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Protocol Department and then the diplomatic mission will be informed about the approval and the Washington DC consulate will get a copy of that approval to issue the visa. 1. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Iraq, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above). The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines: • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant). • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Iraq. • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa). • Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel. • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
- 03Iraq Consular Fees: • Single Entry – $40 (Approved applicants will be issued single-entry visas valid for three months from the date of issuance.) • Multiple Entry -$100 (Approved applicants will be issued multiple-entry visas valid for three months from the date of issuance.) **The Embassy of Iraq does not offer rush service. The processing time is 15 business days.
