No vaccinations are required to enter Colombia from any country.
Recommended:
• Vaccination against Yellow Fever for all passengers visiting middle valley of the Magdalena river, eastern and western foothills of the Cordillera Oriental from the frontier with Ecuador to that with Venezuela, Uraba, foothills of the Sierra Nevada, eastern plains(Orinoquia) and Amazonia;
• Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk – P. vivax (58%), P. falciparum (42%) – is high throughout the year in rural/jungle areas below 800 m. Transmission occurs in municipalities of the regions Uraba-Bajo Cauca, Orinoquia, Pacifico and Amazonia. Transmission intensity varies from department to department, with the highest risk in Amazonas, Choco, Cordoba, Guainia, Guaviare, Putumayo and Vichada.
• Chloroquine-resistant P.falciparum exists in Uraba-Bajo Cauca, Pacifico and Amazonia. Resistance to sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine reported.
• Recommended prevention in risk areas: III.; in Uraba-Bajo, Causa, Pacifico and Amazonia, IV.
