Angola Document Legalization

1. The document to be authenticated, submit both the original and a complete set of photocopy.

2. A copy of each document translated into Portuguese. (including the cover).

3. A translation certification must be enclosed.

4. All documents must be authenticated by the US State Department, including the Portuguese translation. The document and the translation must be grommet together.

5. 1 set of copies of every document MUST be presented. (copies of English version and Portuguese version must be stapled together)

6. Visas & Authentication Document Processing Request Form.

7. Other supporting documents a consular officer may request.

Angola Consular Fees:

• Regular Service Civil/Commercial Document: $150 per document

• US State Department: $20.00 per document

*The Angola Embassy only allows documents to be submitted Mondays and Wednesdays. Pick-ups are on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

Visas & Authentication Service/Fees:

• Regular Service – 3 business days

• In Jurisdiction Document: $260 per document

• Out of Jurisdiction Document: $385 per document

• Round-trip FedEx fee of $95 will be charged to ship the documents to each jurisdiction outside of Washington, DC if applicable.

*Please note, you can also fill out and submit your application for free (excluding embassy fees) by visiting the Angola Embassy website. We have no affiliation with any government embassy or agency.

• Please make sure you have followed the all the steps required for authentication before submitting your document to the Angola Embassy/Consulate-General for final legalization.

• Your document must be authentic, intact and legitimate. The Embassy/Consulate-Generals will NOT authenticate a document that contains illegal contents under Angola laws or may cause potential threats to Angola national or public interests.

• A document containing two or more pages must be bound properly and securely, with sealing wax or paging seal/embossed seal to ensure the integrity of the document. The Embassy / Consulate-Generals will NOT authenticate a document if it is found illegitimate, or in any way forged, counterfeited, fraudulent or altered.

• Single affidavits/certificates intended to be used for marriage registration in Angola and certain adoption documents regarding marital status, health status, or criminal records are only valid for six months from the date of issuance. The Embassy / Consulate-Generals will NOT authenticate a document if it becomes invalid.
